Growing Boy

Kade is already up to 7lbs. 12oz. that is more than his birth weight. The peds were happy with that! Erika is still trying to adapt to Kade's schedule since he is having a hard time adjusting to ours. I think he is going to be headstrong that way (just like his mom).

Long Nights

I think Erika is exhausted. She has been up a lot with Kade throughout the nights. She is going to need to get some sleep during the days or else she is going to turn into a zombie. I wish I could help out, but it is the nursing he wants.

The hospital put his photo up, check it out.

A ok

Took Kade back to the hospital yesterday for a check in with the lactation specialist. They weighed him and gave him a hearing check. He can hear fine and he has gained weight, up to 7 lbs. 4 oz. He should be up to his birth weight soon.

He also went with us to brunch today at the Legion. The Lemmons family got to meet the little guy. Well, it is the last day before I go back to work, kind of sad that I won't be able to spend all day with him anymore :(

Family Time

Well, Kade came on Sunday, March 21, 2004. He was 7 lbs. 9 oz. 21.5" long. Mom did great with labor. It only lasted about 8 hours and she did not even get any pain meds.

We are home now and Kade is doing great. Thanks to everyone who has helped!

Chillin' out with Kade on Friday. He is so content just to sleep the day away.

Walking the mall

So we walked the mall today to get Erika to go into labor... no luck. The home show is going on though. Stopped and talked to Sam and Frank Schmenk and Jason Stenger all having booths at the mall. After walking around for a while we left and went to get ice cream at Tofts. First trip since we have been back in town. I had to get the banana split of course.

Watched the Big East Championship. Pitt got beat by UCONN. I was not very happy seeing as Pitt practically gave the game away at the end.

Lets go Kade, the days are passing by.

Fun with Baby Products

Erika and her mother went out shopping today, so when I got home from work there was bassinet parts all over the kitchen. It turns out that the bassinet they purchased was previously purchased by someone who could not read directions (Erika swears it was a man). The parts were already put together and in the wrong position with the wrong hardware. So we took it all apart, which was no small feat. Then we went to put it all together correctly only to find out that we did not have all of the nuts and bolts. Argh. After a trip to Lowes, where we picked up numerous nuts and bolts packages to prevent a second trip, we put the bassinet together. Ahhh. Time for dinner (at 8:30 pm). Well, it is all together and mom is happy. Tommorow we will put up some shelves! I can sense the fun now.

Working late

Trying to get this blog all set up. Still need to design a template for it.

Still awaiting the arrival of Kade. He is due on March 22, 2004, but Erika wants him to come soon. We are excited. He sure has a lot of clothes and things, he is going to be a spoiled little thing. But like Grandma Kraus says, "You can't spoil a kid by loving him."
