Good Week

Kade had a good week this week. Wedensday night was mama and daddy's 3rd Anniversary. So Grandma and Grandpa Roth watched him and he was good. That night, he went to bed around 10 and slept through the night! Amazing. Friday, Mama went over to Grandma and Grandpa Kraus's house to do laundry. Grandpa took the day off of work. Erika laid Kade down on his belly on a blanket on the floor with Grandpa and went to get a drink in the kitchen. She came back and Kade was on his back. Grandpa said, "he sure can roll over good." Erika is with him 24 hours a day and when she steps out he rolls over, go figure. Grandpa said that he will have to take off again in a few weeks and teach him to crawl.

So last night we went out to the "Relay for Life". Grandma and Grandpa Kraus volunteered to cook and serve food. We ran into Cory, Tiffaney and Noah. Kade was real good out there too, even though it was past his bedtime.

Hopefully this good-streak keeps going. We want to go down to see the Jimmy Buffet tribute band, Island Fever, tonight at the Lyman Harbor. If he is good, maybe he will get to go too. Let it ride!

Northcoast Thunder

Kade and Grandma Bonnie's best friend, Janice at Stillwaters Café.

Noah and Kade at the Northcoast Thunder Rally.

A few of the bikes down Columbus Avenue, Downtown Sandusky.

It was nice to have the Northcoast Thunder Rally downtown. All of the Harley's were very impressive. It was just a block away from our apartment. We met up with Cory, Tiffaney and Noah. The 2 boys were a little scared when all of the bikes came through.

Weekend

It is nice to have a weekend with nothing planned... yet. We are supposed to take Kade out on the boat today. He has got his own little life jacket that grandma and grandpa Kraus bought him. I am sure he is going to love to wear that. It looks pretty cloudy, but hopefully it clears up. Also the Northcoast Thunder Rally is downtown today. Cory, Tiffaney and Noah are supposed to be going down, so maybe we will stop down to check out all of the Harley's and have a few brews.

Happy Birthday Aunt Marcie! And Happy Belated Birthday to Aunt Lauren (June 5).

A Night Out

Erika and I got a night out, Grandma Kraus came over to watch Kade and we went out to the Yacht Club for dinner. After dinner we went to the Willow Leaf for a coffee. We were going to go out longer but Erika wanted to get back home to Kade. He was good, and when we got back Grandma and Grandpa Kraus and Great Grandma and Grandpa Kraus were in the apartment with Kade. Everything went pretty well.

Check out this picture of Kade and Riley. Do they look a like?

One Heck of a Weekend

It was a long weekend, not in the "long holiday weekend" sense, but in the "long nights of crying baby, not as much rest as we planned on" weekend. Kade had his worst weekend yet. After all of the events on Sunday, we thought maybe he was getting better, but just when you think it is safe to take him out...

Monday we had a cookout at my sister, Jessie's, in Toledo for Memorial Day. Kade was pretty good in the morning and we were able to leave on time. We picked up Marcie and Grandpa Roth at their house and off we went to Toledo. He slept a lot of the way and all was well. We got there and he was good, but then it was time for us to eat. We put him in the swing to keep him busy during dinner. He fell asleep and we thought that he was going to be fine. Then he woke up.

When he woke up he was not very happy and would not stop crying. We tried to feed him, change his diaper, walk him outside and sing to him, but nothing was going to work. So we left to try to get him to settle down. He started to fuss about 10 minutes into the drive so Erika fed him a bottle as we were on the road. We stopped at the rest stop for some burping and then off again.

He seemed fine as we got home, but later there was no soothing him again, until finally I took him into the bathroom, ran the bath and sang "I've been workin on the railroad" over and over. He fell asleep and I laid him on my chest and let him sleep for about a half hour before I took him into bed.

All of that hard work was finally worth it. He was happy and sleeping. I don't know how Erika can do this all of the time. I do understand and appreciate everything that she does for him.

Five minutes after putting him to bed he woke up and was hungry :(
